The Tennis Ball Thursdays event at Barkside continues until December 26, so you and your pup can get out and enjoy some fun together. As a bonus, Barkside is also a people bar and coffee shop — so the humans tagging along can have a little fun too. You WILL need to register your dog before your first visit on their website, so be sure to do that here before heading over.
Bass Pro Shops Santa’s Wonderland – Auburn Hills

More Info: It may seem a bit early to start thinking about Santa, but Bass Pro Shop in Auburn Hills will be opening up its pet photos with Santa this weekend! The event runs until Christmas eve, so you still have plenty of time to plan out that holiday outfit and get your pup groomed and ready to go. While the single photo is free, there are additional picture packages you can purchase, as well as special event weekends offering freebies for human companions.

Pawsitive Stretch Kitten Yoga Adoption Event – Dearborn

A group yoga class will go for the entire hour — with plenty of breaks to play with the kittens in between. Best of all, you can adopt one after! There are limited spots for this event, and it’s limited to people 18+, so be sure to sign up quick if you’re interested at the website above.
Shelter Dogs at the Library – Detroit

More Info: The Friends of Detroit Animal Care & Control and the Chase Branch Library have joined together for a fun reading event. While you can’t bring your own pet to this event, you can bring your school-aged kids to enjoy a read-a-long with adoptable dogs. You might even come home with a new best friend! If you can’t make it this week, the event happens every second and fourth Saturday of the month.

Autumn Recovery Walk at Woodlawn Cemetery – Detroit

More Info: Take in some fresh fall air, explore a new place, and bring your four-legged friends along for a walk designed to help reset your body and soul. In addition to the walk, the group will be pausing to take breaks, enjoy the scenery, and check out local history and architecture. The event is free, and dogs are encouraged to attend! The event also recommends bringing your own water bottles.
